There are not many places where you can find so many elegant maxi dresses in an array of vibrant and subtle shades. We found these stunning outfits at Coast and love the Oscar-style one-shoulder dresses, bandeau styles and slinky satin appeal of their occasionwear.

The collection of long evening dresses is varied and fashionable to suit any age group. Best of all they can be teamed with a bolero or cover-up for adding their own style personality to the outfit. Older women will particularly enjoy their return and remember how fabulous they used to feel in a long flowing evening dress.

Our chosen Red Carpet dresses consist of the Tigre Maxi available in vibrant raspberry (also comes in black). Women who bought this item said the dress definitely had the wow factor and was very elegant.

The attention to detail is what really strikes you with gentle pleats on the x over the bodice. There is a satin band under the bust that ties to a bow at the back for a finishing touch. The whole style of the dress accentuates your curves adding to its appeal as does the fall of the pleats down the front of the dress.

Our spring favourite is the pretty silk Camille maxi dress which has shoestring straps and pleated scoop neckline. The multi-coloured long dress is a great mix of soft pastels in ivory, peach, greens and gold. The lilac Symphony maxi dress (also in teal) is another stunner in 100% silk with detachable straps.

For stealing the limelight there is the head-turning Harmony Maxi bandeau dress. The luxurious silk satin material is designed in a Grecian style with draping folds of material and gentle pleating. There is a choice of three colours mono black and white, cream and navy.

Depending on the season a cover-up for a strapless dress can be a simple chiffon wrap in matching colour, a fine knit bolero or a warm faux fur bolero. The sophisticated feather bolero from Coast is elasticated under the arm so it stays in place and is available two versatile colours of black or ivory.
